Was able to repair race cars that are at least 30 years old, however, I am giving only 4 stars because it did not provide enough replacement tires. Also it did not provide the little pickup coil springs that give tension to the shoes that connect the cars to the track.
I recently 'lowered' an HO slot car track, on a 4 x 8 piece of plywood, that has been suspended for ~20 years. It was well protected by a tarp, and looks in great condition. I just need a few odd and end things to get it all going again. These 440X2 Cars were very fun back in the day. I bet my grand kids will have fun too.
Really pleased I brought this tune up kit .the axle assembly replaced a worn out one on an old Tyco car and the tyres fitted on two of my 35 year old aurora cars bringing them back into use.
Found 2 cars and the track at my parents house and wanted to bring some new life into the cars for my son to play with. The tires were dry-rot and this kit did exactly what I needed. Cars run great and we have extra tires as they wear down. Highly recommended, and way more cost effective then having to buy new cars.

Just remember not all Tyco 440 cars have the same parts. This kit does not fit most of my Tyco 440 cars
